The foundation for future generations recently awarded its annual Future Generations Grand Prix to the social enterprise La Ferme Nos Pilifs.
La Ferme Nos Pilifs is an urban farm in Brussels. Its 150 employees (including 120 disabled) develop a rich offering of socially and environmentally minded services: natural gardening services, a tree nursery, a chicken farm, a Bio and local food shop, a traditional bakery, a small restaurant, … The farm now covers 60% of its costs with its commercial activities.
The Future Generations Grand Prix aims to build awareness around Belgian trailblazers in sustainable development. La Ferme Nos Pilifs was selected this year because it provides meaningful work to disabled people, contributes to the development of sustainable practices and to the preservation of natural areas in the region.
